MARÍA DE DUEÑAS LÓPEZ
Review for Gibanica Festival 2015
The authors Maja Kalafatic (Slovenia) and Maria de Dueñas López (Spain) in its sensory duo expose transitional space as a metaphorical place relational betweenness, in which a human being finalized earlier position and starting a new one. The opening potentiality of the space as an emptiness that fills our imagination, in which personal experience combines internal and external reality. At the intersection of two for the individual movements of two bodies, opening a place for layering of meanings and sensory perceptions. Duet is a subtle study of physical and psychological aspects that occur during the transition, a temporary space that is constantly changing, in a society that puts our state "on hold." And while the latter requires us to adapt, it defines the potentiality necessary for conservation of the species.
