IVAN MIJACEVIC

 

Maker, performer and educator in the fields of music and performing arts. 

 

He holds an MA in Dance Dissemination from the University of Music and Dance Cologne, and has studied dance and choreography at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), music pedagogy at the University of Maribor, and classical piano performance at the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet. He is a member of art collectives: inability crew, SZ3, Two Kings and a French Town, con/temporary choreo-graphics, danceCO, DG Collective, and Task-15.

 

He collaborated in various performance arts projects and performed in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Germany, Grate Britain, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia, with Dragana Alfirević, Mateja Bučar, Katie Duck, Jan Fabre, Julyen Hamilton, Kaja Lorenci, Lisa Nelson, Snježana Premuš and Ingo Relulecke, among others.

 

His artistic collaborations were awarded (2014) Centro de Danza Canal and La Nave del Duende residency awards, Madrid Choreography Competition, (2013) the Organizers' Board Award and the Art-Center Most Award, Festival ArtOkraina Sankt Petersburg, and the Editor's choice of a week, Radio Študent Ljubljana, (2010-2011) Working Grant, Fundation Sonda, (2009) Audience Award, Moving Cake Ljubljana, (2007) First Prize, platforma.hr Zagreb, (2005) Award for Extraordinary Achievement, Transgeneracije Ljubljana, (2001) First Prize, Opus 1 Celje. 

 

He thought a course on the relations of music and dance Terpsichorean Sonics at the University of Music and Dance Cologne, University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt , Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, SEAD, Yasmeen Godder Studio, and Carmina Slovenica, among other institutions. 

 

 

 

MAJA KALAFATIC

 

SEAD graduate and MA in Dance Dissemination in the Contemporary Context at the Centre for Contemporary Dance at the University of Music and Dance Cologne. She´s co-founder with Maria de Dueñas of DG Collective. 

 

had worked as a freelance choreographer, dancer and teacher. Recently she is also collaborating with Heath Bunting, Stephanie Felber and Ludger Lamers. Among others she had worked with are Mateja Bučar, Vania Gala, Martina Ruhsam, Saša Jovanovič, Yulia Roschina, Samo Gosarič and many others.

 

 

 

GAŠPER PIANO

 

Slovenian composer/musician/sound artist/performer, graduated in 2008 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in social anthropology and culturology. 

 

During his studies, he has been composing and performing in Slovenia and abroad. He was acknowledged as a budding artist by the Ministry of Culture. Since 2008 he has been active as an independent composer and musician for performative arts (theatre, dance, performance), visual arts (multimedia projects, installations, film, documentary film, video, tv projects) and acoustic-experimental-electronic groups. His works have been presented at national and international festivals, exhibitions, performances and theaters; Slovenia, Belgium, Croatia, Serbia, Austria, Italy, Bulgaria and SAR.

 

In the last two years Gašper collaborated in Belgium with various performers, choreographers, dancers and visual artists; Davis Freeman , Salva Sanchis & Georgia Vardarou , Moya Michael & Igor Shyshko , Roberto Olivan and Dance Company Lune, Ibro Hasanovič and Mark Požlep , Sophie Vanhomwegen, had an exhibition in Slovenia at the Museum of Recent History Celje (It's Time to Play) and made music for documentary film Portret: František Čap, directed by Urban Arsenjuk. Besides collaborations in different project he performed and made his own music and visual projects; King's Last Days, What is Written at the End and The Art of Not Being Here.

 

 

 

MICHELLE YOM

 

Michelle Yom, born in Seoul 1982, started piano at three, flute ateleven, and after studying classical music, switched to improvisedmusic in 2004. After studies in Boulder and New York, she moved toHouston, where she was active in the improvised music community since2006. In June 2012, she quit her choral director position and movedto Berlin. Now she spends most of her time with the flute continuingexploration of new sounds and tambres using voice, circular phrasing,and finger drumming. Most recently, she began using microphones andspeakers to amplify the small, inside sounds of the flute, and use itand its feedback sounds as another material for improvisation.
